Summary

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Section 27-2104 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by local law number 5 for the year 1992, is amended to read as follows:
� 27-2104 Posting of serial number and owner identification. a. Definitions. For purposes of this section, the following terms have the following meanings:
Beneficial owner. The term "beneficial owner" has the same meaning as defined in paragraph (3) of subsection (a) of section 5336 of title 31 of the United States code.
Limited liability company. The term "limited liability company" has the same meaning as defined in subdivision (m) of section 102 of the limited liability company law.
b. An identification sign containing the name and business address of the owner and the dwelling serial number assigned by the department for the purpose of identifying the registered multiple dwelling and the owner, managing agent, and agent designated by the owner for the collection of rental payments if different from the managing agent, shall be posted in every multiple dwelling in the manner and location prescribed by the department.
c. If the multiple dwelling is owned by a corporation, the identification sign shall include the name and business address of such corporation together with the names and business addresses of the officers of such corporation, and the names and business addresses of every beneficial owner of such corporation.
d. If the multiple dwelling is owned by a limited liability company, the identification sign shall include the name and business address of such limited liability company and the names and business addresses of every beneficial owner of such limited liability company.
e. If the multiple dwelling is owned by a partnership, the identification sign shall include the name and business address of such partnership and the names and business addresses of each general partner and the names and business addresses of each limited partner whose share of ownership of the partnership exceeds 25 percent.
� 2. This local law takes effect 120 days after becoming law.
