Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 5 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-532.1 to read as follows:
�19-532.1 Priority queue status. Taxicabs operating with alternative fuel, as defined in paragraph two of subdivision a of section 24-163.1 of this code, shall have priority in queues for the transportation of passengers from any airport wherein the commission operates such queue. For the purposes of this section, a taxicab using alternative fuel shall also include a hybrid-electric vehicle, defined as a vehicle that employs a combustion engine system together with an electric propulsion system that operates in an integrated manner.
�2. This local law shall take effect 30 days after it is enacted into law.
