Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 23 of the New York City charter is REPEALED and a new section 23 is added to read as follows: §23. Council members not to hold other employment. Members of the council shall not engage in paid outside employment or other forms of activity for which they receive payment for their professional services. §2. This local law shall take effect on January 1, 2010 and shall apply to all council members on and after such date.
