Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subdivision b of section 26 of the New York City charter is amended to read as follows: b. The salary of each council member shall be one hundred twelve thousand five hundred dollars a year. No allowances, including allowances for [In addition any council member, while] serving as a committee chairperson or other officer of the council, may [also] be paid, in addition to such salary[, an allowance fixed by resolution, after a hearing, for the particular and additional services pertaining to the additional duties of such position]. §2. This local law shall take effect on the first day of January of the year immediately following its approval by vote of the electorate. .
